Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information & International Privacy Rights

Enginr.dev Does Not Sell Your Personal Information

We want to be clear: Enginr.dev does not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. We also do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.

What This Means

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), you have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information.

"Sale" means the exchange of personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration. "Sharing" means disclosing personal information to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Enginr.dev does neither. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers for targeted advertising. Our business model is based on optional Pro subscriptions, not selling user data.

Data We Do Collect and Process

While we don't sell your data, we do collect and use information to provide and improve the Service. This includes:

  • Account Information: Email, username, display name, profile details
  • User Content: Posts, code snippets, comments, and other content you create
  • Usage Analytics: How you interact with features (used to improve the app)
  • Error Monitoring: Crash reports and error logs (used to fix bugs)
  • Connect Persona Data: If you opt into Connect, we collect your Connect persona information, including a Connect-specific display name, up to 4 Connect persona photos (stored separately from your social profile photos), a Connect bio, and attribute visibility preferences.
  • Connect Location Data (optional): If you opt into Connect and choose to share your location, we collect your GPS coordinates for proximity-based matching. Your coordinates are converted to a city-level label for your own display — other users only see approximate distance buckets (e.g. "Nearby", "<25 mi"), never your coordinates or city name.

For complete details, please see our Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use third-party services to help operate Enginr.dev. These service providers process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to use your information only for the purposes we specify. This is not considered a "sale" or "sharing" under privacy laws.

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, analytics, crash reporting
  • Sentry: Error monitoring and performance tracking
  • Vercel: Web hosting and analytics
  • Stripe: Payment processing (for Pro subscriptions)
  • OpenStreetMap (Nominatim): Geocoding service (converts coordinates to city names for Connect feature, web platform only)

We have Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) in place with all vendors that process user data.

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal information
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information
